  • Jason Kush Quartet

    Saturday, September 30, 7:30PM

    Johnstown native Dr. Jason Kush will present an evening of exciting jazz music with his Pittsburgh-based quartet. The group will perform Kush’s original compositions as well as songs from the classic American songbook. Kush’s recent album release, Finally Friday, has received worldwide radio play and Top 100 status on national jazz charts. He has performed extensively with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, is a member of the Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra. Kush’s quartet includes Alton Merrell (piano), Jeff Grubbs, (bass), and David Glover (drums), and will welcome special guest vocalist Tania Grubbs.

  • IUP Faculty Woodwind Quintet

    Saturday, October 14, 7:30PM

    The Woodwind Quintet is comprised of faculty members of the IUP Music Department. They have performed at multiple meetings of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and most recently did a tour of Moscow and St. Petersburgh, Russia, playing at the Moscow Conservatory and the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory. The members of the quintet are Dr. Therese Wacker, flute; Dr. Stephanie Caulder, oboe; Dr. Rosemary Engelstad, clarinet; Dr. Heidi Lucas, horn; and Dr. Jason Worzbyt, bassoon.

  • Trio Harmonia- Cancelled due to COVID-19

    Trio Harmonia is a newly formed musical group making its debut at the Johnstown Concert Series.  As musicians in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Jennifer Steele, flute, Alexandra Lee, cello and Rodrigo Ojeda, piano, have played together in several different chamber combinations for many years in addition to performing with the PSO in Pittsburgh and around the world.  This performance will include works by Mendelssohn, Hevia and Villa Lobos. 

  • The Kalnas Ensemble

    The newly formed Kalnas Ensemble is a string quartet focusing on Lithuanian musical roots, exploring compositions of Stanley Chepaitis with improvisatory overtones, as well as performing standard quartet repertoire. The ensemble is a diverse group of multi-talented individuals with a commitment to engaging audiences with a dynamic approach to live performance. In addition, their wide spectrum of knowledge and interests allows them offer workshops and other interactive presentations that enhance the meaning and experience of the music they perform.

  • IUP Chorale

    The IUP University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Craig Denison, is the university’s premier choral ensemble and is dedicated to the study and performance of choral literature at the highest artistic level possible. Founded in 1961, the University Chorale has achieved distinction as one of the finest choral ensembles in Pennsylvania, and have performed under the direction of Andre Previn with the Pittsburgh Symphony, and for the worship services in Mozart’s cathedral—the Salzburger Dom (Austria), and the 2017 National Association for Music Education Eastern Division In-Service Conference.

  • Seipp-Sheets Duo -- Organ and Trumpet

    The Seipp/Sheets Trumpet & Organ Duo is unlike any ensemble performing today. Custom musical arrangements of virtuoso, beautiful, entertaining, humorous and patriotic selections enhance the exquisite blend of their instruments. Coupled visually with specialized videos, Seipp and Sheets craft a unique and engaging concert experience for all ages, creating extraordinary connection with their audiences. Trumpeter Chuck Seipp and organist Randall Sheets are two performers at the top of their craft. Both are high-profile musicians in their own right.
